So here we are at comic 2, Maximum Joy!. This comic is based loosly on an idea that came from something John was saying as we were walking down a corridor. The original conversation was a lot, er, bluer I suppose you could say, possibly phallic in nature as John's humour often is (what would Freud say?). This idea was quickly modified into something resembling the comic you see today. It is of course a direct reference to the opening FMV of the Crysis demo. Following the idea for this comic several hundred variations along its theme for were generated so who knows one day it may be time to get Joyful again.

The artwork on this comic has never been my favourite. It is my intention to return to it and do another version. It was my first comic using the tablet, and I was tasked with a near-full human figure. Not only that, but a muscularly defined nano-suit as well, making the task greater. I did, however, have fun with the background, crafting a relatively simplified jungle backdrop. This comic also uses the old style of comic framework - really big and bulky - it is also the last comic to do so. This means the smaller size of the characters is emphasized by the larger frame. My art teacher would flip a nut, for not using all the canvas space... Consider this comic as a near-final draft, and watch this space for an updated version, if and when I have the time in the near future.
